Today’s Topic: Grow Through It
Scripture:
…that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
1 Peter 1:7, NKJV

Today’s Word
We all go through things that we don’t like—a coworker gets on our nerves, a child is being difficult, a dream is taking longer than we thought. It’s easy to live frustrated, wondering why it’s not changing. But God uses difficulties, delays, and inconveniences to do a work in us. If the situation isn’t changing, maybe God is using it to change you. Don’t just go through it being upset, bitter, or offended; grow through it. That’s an opportunity to get stronger, to develop your character, to build your spiritual muscles.

We don’t grow so much in the good times. We grow in the difficult times, in the times when “the genuineness of our faith is tested by fire.” When someone does you wrong, that’s a test. God is seeing if you’re going to get bitter and try to pay them back, or if you’re going to take the high road and forgive. That’s why you face challenges. He’s refining you, getting you prepared for something greater. If you keep the right attitude, you’ll grow through it.

Prayer For Today
“Father, thank You that You are the Most High God, and You are refining my life with fire to develop my character and help me grow stronger. Thank You that every test of my faith is preparing me to go higher and increase me. I believe that I am coming out better. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

TODAY’S INSPIRATIONAL MESSAGE: There may be promises God has spoken to you, but they seem so far off that it’s easy to quit believing. Like Elijah, you have to keep seeing it in the distance, waving at what God promised, expecting things to change in your favor. When you welcome it, you give it permission to come. If Elijah had doubted, talked defeat, let the assistant convince him it wasn’t going to happen, we wouldn’t be talking about him.

There are levels of your destiny you cannot reach without seeing in the distance, believing when it’s far away and it doesn’t seem possible. This is what separates ordinary people from the heroes of faith. Where God is taking you is much bigger than you’ve imagined, with more influence, more resources, more anointing. But for that to happen, there will be things that seem over your head, out of your control, not possible.

“You can’t have a baby, Abraham, you’re too old. It’s not going to rain, Elijah, you’re in a drought. You’ll never take the throne, David, King Saul is chasing you.” When it seems far away, that’s okay. Keep seeing it by faith, believing when every circumstance says there’s no way. Like with Elijah, that little cloud way off in the distance will suddenly turn into a downpour, an abundance of rain. You’ll see what God promised.
